A newly married woman, Manasa, tragically lost her life, and her husband, Anish Krishna, sustained severe injuries in a devastating car accident at Talapady in Bantwal, along the Mangaluru-Bengaluru National Highway on Saturday.
The couple’s car, traveling from BC Road towards Mangaluru, lost control, jumped the divider, and crashed into a KSRTC bus coming from the opposite direction. The collision left the car completely mangled, and Manasa was declared dead at the scene. Anish, hailing from Odyadagaya near Perne, was rushed to a private hospital in Mangaluru for urgent medical attention.
The couple had married just two days earlier, on September 5, at the Denthadka temple. On the day of the accident, they had visited the temple to settle marriage-related accounts and were on their way to Manasa’s parents’ home when the unfortunate incident occurred.
Both Manasa and Anish were employed at a private company in Mangaluru. The sudden loss has shocked their family and friends, casting a pall over what should have been a time of celebration and joy.
