Bengaluru: A two-year-old boy is battling for his life after falling from the third floor of a residential building in Chikka Adugodi under Madiwala Police limits on Saturday.
The incident occurred around 10.50 am while the child’s parents, both of whom work for private companies, were at home.
Toddler falls from balcony
According to Police, the child was playing near the third-floor balcony when he was left unattended. He reportedly climbed onto the balcony grill before falling to the ground.
A motorist who witnessed the fall immediately sought help from nearby residents.
The child was rushed to a nearby private hospital by residents on a two-wheeler and is currently undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit.
Police examine incident
A video of the incident has reportedly circulated on social media.
The incident has highlighted the risks posed to young children by open or accessible balcony areas in residential buildings. Police are examining the circumstances surrounding the fall.
The child remains under medical care as doctors continue treatment.
