Mahindra & Mahindra is gearing up to launch the new 5-door Mahindra Thar Roxx on August 15, coinciding with Independence Day. Teased extensively before its grand reveal, the SUV will be offered in black and white, with additional color options to be announced at launch. The Thar Roxx is expected to be priced between ₹12.50 lakh and ₹19 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it against rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Jimny and Force Gurkha.
The Thar Roxx features a new six-slat grille, circular LED headlamps with integrated DRLs, and a robust front bumper with LED fog lamps. The SUV also includes LED taillamps and diamond-cut alloy wheels. Inside, it boasts a premium cabin with a digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated seats, automatic climate control, and high-end features such as a wireless charger, Harman Kardon sound system, electric parking brake, 360-degree camera, and a panoramic sunroof. The Thar Roxx is anticipated to include ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), making it the third Mahindra SUV to offer this technology.
The new Thar Roxx is expected to share powertrains with the 3-door Thar, albeit with minor tuning adjustments. It will likely feature engine options similar to the existing Thar: a 1.5-litre D117 CRDe diesel, 2.2-litre mHawk 130 CRDe diesel, and a 2.0-litre mStallion 150 TGDi petrol engine. Transmission options are anticipated to include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic, along with a confirmed 4WD setup.
