Dubai has announced another record-breaking marvel — Dubai Square, the world’s first-ever drive-through mall, spread across a staggering 2.6 million sq. metres and set to open within the next three years.
The futuristic development, led by Emaar founder Mohamed Ali Alabbar, will be three times the size of Downtown Dubai and is being hailed as one of the most ambitious projects in the emirate, backed by an investment of AED 180 billion.
A mall you can drive through
Dubai Square will let visitors enter and move through different sections in their own vehicles, making shopping faster and more convenient. According to Arabian Business, the mall’s design even includes specialised infrastructure for electric vehicles, underscoring Dubai’s push toward smart urban planning.
But it doesn’t stop at retail. Dubai Square is envisioned as a self-contained lifestyle city — blending shopping, dining, entertainment, luxury hotels, residential units and leisure avenues under one massive roof.
The heart of Dubai Creek Harbour
Located at the centre of the grand Dubai Creek Harbour master plan, the project includes:
- 7.4 million sq. metres of residential space
- Pedestrian-friendly boulevards
- 500,000 sq. metres of landscaped green zones
- Waterfront promenades and mixed-use neighbourhoods
The development aims to create a dynamic district that merges scenic living with retail therapy and entertainment.
Expected to attract global attention
With its scale, novelty and luxury offerings, Dubai Square is expected to draw tourists, residents and international investors, positioning itself as one of the city’s most talked-about destinations.
Dubai’s reputation for pushing architectural boundaries continues — and Dubai Square may be its boldest retail experiment yet.
