BENGALURU: Jumboking, India’s third-largest burger chain, has made its debut in Bengaluru with its first outlet at HSR Layout, according to a press release on Friday. The Mumbai-based chain, which follows McDonald’s and Burger King in size, is set to significantly expand its presence in southern India this year.

Dheeraj Gupta, Jumboking’s founder, revealed that the chain plans to double its store count in southern India by the end of 2024. The company’s ambitious expansion includes opening six outlets in Bengaluru by the end of the fiscal year (FY25) and aiming for 30 outlets by FY27.

Founded in 2001 with its first store in Malad, Jumboking currently operates over 175 locations across Mumbai, Delhi, and Hyderabad. The chain entered the Delhi market in November 2021 and launched in Hyderabad in 2023. In Delhi alone, Jumboking has 43 stores and plans to increase this by 58% within the year.

Since its shift to focusing on burgers in 2017, Jumboking has seen sevenfold growth. It has partnered with Swiggy and Zomato for deliveries and operates JK University to train staff. The company aims to reach 500 stores within the next 5 to 6 years, targeting a 2030 milestone.
