Chamarajanagar: A devastating road accident occurred near Hirikati Gate, outside Begur town, Gundlupet taluk, on Tuesday night, claiming the lives of three family members and injuring another. The family was returning from a temple visit when their motorbike collided head-on with a speeding car.
Victims Identified
The deceased are:
- Shashidhar (28), the motorbike rider
- Shalini (22), his wife
- Bhagyamma (50), his mother
All were residents of Kudlapur village, Nanjangud taluk, Mysuru district.
Injured Person
- Rajanna (40), from Hemmaragala village, was injured when the speeding car brushed against another motorbike behind the victims’ vehicle. Rajanna is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.
Details of the Accident
- The family had visited the Chikkadevamma Hills temple in HD Kote, Mysuru district, and was heading back home when the incident took place.
- The car, coming from the opposite direction at high speed, collided with the motorbike carrying the family, causing the tragic fatalities.
Police Response and Investigation
- Begur Police responded promptly to the accident, conducting an inquest and shifting the bodies to Begur Primary Health Centre for post-mortem examination.
- The vehicles involved have been seized, and police are continuing the investigation.
