Mangaluru: The Roman Catholic Diocese of Mangalore, through the Charismatic Service Communion in association with the Diocesan Biblical Commission, will organise a four-day ‘Mega Bible Convention 2026’ at the Holy Cross Church grounds, Cordel, Kulshekar, from February 26 to March 1, 2026. The convention will be held daily from 4:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
Theme and Purpose
Addressing the media, Diocesan PRO Rev. Dr J. B. Saldanha said the convention draws inspiration from the theme chosen by Holy Father Pope Leo XIV for Word of God Sunday 2026: “The Word of Christ dwells among you” (Colossians 3:16).
He stated that the gathering aims to celebrate the transformative power of the Scriptures and help the faithful encounter the presence of God in their daily struggles, joys, and sorrows. The event is envisioned as a “Feast of the Bible,” intended to offer spiritual renewal and guidance for living a life rooted in faith.
Key Highlights of the Convention
- Spiritual Exercises: Daily Holy Eucharistic celebration, Rosary meditation, and Eucharistic Adoration.
- Expert Preaching: Eight designated priests will deliver Biblical reflections in Konkani and English, while four priests will conduct specialised English adoration sessions.
- Worship and Healing: Praise and worship sessions, along with prayers for healing led by experienced lay ministers.
