Charas-Laced Chocolates Disguised as Ayurvedic Medicine Found in Bengaluru
In a recent crackdown, Bengaluru police uncovered a drug-peddling scheme involving “charas chocolates” disguised as Ayurvedic medicines and sold at select paan-beeda shops in Bengaluru and its outskirts. The chocolates, labeled “Mahakal-Munakka Vati” — a name resembling a legitimate Ayurvedic product — were available for Rs 10 to Rs 100 depending on size. Jigani police arrested six suspects, including Jeetu Bisambar Singh, a courier agent who sourced the products from Uttar Pradesh, and seized over 10,000 chocolates valued at Rs 10 lakh.
The police investigation revealed that these charas-infused chocolates targeted workers and students. Efforts to trace the manufacturers are ongoing, with local police coordinating with authorities in Uttar Pradesh for further investigation.
