On Friday, the city task force apprehended Jaffar Ali, a 36-year-old gang member, for impersonating a police officer and defrauding individuals. Ali, a resident of Irani Galli, Bidar, Karnataka, was found with ₹95,000 in cash and a fake police ID card. He had cheated five victims by pretending to be a policeman, targeting those carrying cash, and diverting their attention to replace genuine currency with counterfeits.
Following a complaint, the task force reviewed CCTV footage from multiple locations, which led to Ali’s identification and arrest.
