Gold Ornaments Worth ₹63 Lakhs Stolen on Train Journey to Udupi
A shocking theft occurred on a train traveling from CST to Mangalore, leaving a family devastated after their baggage was raided and gold ornaments valued at ₹63 lakhs were stolen. The incident came to light when the family arrived at Indrali railway station in Udupi on November 16 and discovered their bags had been forcibly opened.
The family suspects the theft occurred during the overnight journey, specifically between Panvel and Kankavali stations in Maharashtra. They believe that the culprits took advantage of the train’s motion to carry out the crime unnoticed. Upon inspecting their belongings, they found the gold jewellery, which included several high-value pieces, was missing.
The family immediately reported the theft to the Udupi police, who have launched an investigation. A case has been registered, and authorities are now working to track down the thieves. The police are focusing their efforts on pinpointing the time and location of the theft while trying to identify any suspects involved in this high-profile crime.
This incident has raised concerns about safety on long-distance trains, especially regarding the protection of valuables and passenger belongings during travel.
