A man named Manjunath from Paduvari village was injured in a violent altercation aboard an anchored boat at Malpe on Monday night. Manjunath, who has been employed at Malpe Port for four years, was resting on the Sanman boat after his meal. According to his complaint, he had gone aboard to have a drink with his fellow workers, Anil and Keerthi.
Around 10:30 pm, a heated argument erupted between Anil and Keerthi over work-related matters. During the dispute, Keerthi allegedly struck Anil with a beer bottle. In retaliation, Anil grabbed a knife and attacked Manjunath, injuring him on the left side of his neck and fingers. Despite the injuries, Manjunath managed to defend himself and escape the situation.
A case has been registered at the Malpe police station, and authorities are investigating the incident.
