Tumkur: A dispute over song choices at a Ganesha idol installation event in Tumkur‘s Antarsanahalli industrial area turned fatal on Saturday night, resulting in the death of 19-year-old Chotan Kumar from Bihar.
The altercation began when Kumar and three coworkers—Rambabu, Mountukumar, and Sanjeevkumar, all 20-year-olds from Bihar—disagreed over the music selection. Despite attempts by bystanders to intervene, the argument escalated, leading the accused to allegedly stab Kumar with a knife, causing severe injuries to his neck and back.
Kumar succumbed to his injuries on Sunday night while receiving treatment at Sridevi Hospital. A murder case has been registered at the rural police station, and an investigation is underway. This incident serves as a stark reminder of how a trivial dispute can spiral into deadly violence.
