Davanagere: A local court has penalized a two-wheeler owner ₹25,000 for permitting a minor to operate the vehicle, following a case filed by Davanagere South (Traffic) Police under the Indian Motor Vehicles Act.
During a routine check near the Clock Tower, police intercepted a minor riding a motorcycle. The vehicle was seized, and a case was registered against its owner, Mamatha. After reviewing the chargesheet, the court imposed the hefty fine.
The enforcement drive was carried out under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Uma Prashanth, with guidance from ASPs Vijayakumar M Santhosh and Manjunath, along with Deputy SP Sharanabasaveshwara Bheemrao. Circle Inspector (Traffic) Nalavagalu Manjunath led the team, assisted by Sub-Inspector Jayasheela and other officers.
