The DMK’s NRI Wing stirred controversy online after sharing a post on the social media platform X, featuring a map of India that allegedly ceded parts of Jammu & Kashmir to Pakistan. Following a massive backlash accusing the party of unpatriotic behavior, the post was deleted and replaced with a corrected map of India. The controversy escalated when Dr. SG Suryah, Tamil Nadu BJP State Secretary, criticized the DMK for similar past incidents, referencing a 2020 video by Udhayanidhi Stalin, son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, which also depicted an incorrect Indian map.
The post ignited intense debate on social media, with users accusing the DMK of undermining India’s territorial integrity and linking the issue to the party’s recent criticism of Sanatana Dharma. Udhayanidhi Stalin, a vocal opponent of Sanatana Dharma, had recently reiterated his stance, refusing to apologize for his remarks, further fueling the ongoing political firestorm.
