Mangaluru: Akshara House of Children celebrated its Investiture Ceremony 2026, titled Little Leaders’ Day, at AJ Grand Elite, Yekkur, with enthusiasm and pride as pre-schoolers formally took on leadership responsibilities.
The event was graced by Dr Kavita K. R., Regional Joint Director of Collegiate Education, Mangaluru, as the Chief Guest. The ceremony provided the young students with an opportunity to demonstrate their confidence, talent and leadership abilities.
Young students lead the celebrations
The programme was conducted entirely by the pre-schoolers, making the occasion a special milestone in their early educational journey. It began with a spirited marching band welcoming the Chief Guest, followed by a prayer song presented by the choir.
A vibrant welcome dance added colour to the celebrations before the welcome address and introduction of the Chief Guest. The ceremonial procession that followed saw the young students marching with enthusiasm and dignity.
The involvement of the pre-schoolers throughout the programme reflected their growing confidence and ability to participate actively in public events.
Little leaders receive badges and sashes
The highlight of the ceremony was the formal investiture of the young leaders. In a symbolic gesture of responsibility, Dr Kavita K. R. adorned the students with sashes and badges, officially appointing them to their respective leadership roles.
For the children, the badges represented more than recognition. The ceremony encouraged them to understand values such as responsibility, teamwork and service from an early age.
Parents watched the proceedings with pride as their children stepped forward to take on their new responsibilities.
Leadership through kindness and example
Addressing the gathering, Anthony Joseph, Associate Director and Principal, congratulated the newly invested student leaders and their parents.
In his motivational address, Joseph spoke to the children about the meaning of leadership and encouraged them to understand that being a leader is not simply about holding a position.
He emphasised that true leadership is demonstrated through good example, kindness and responsibility. He encouraged the young leaders to view their badges not merely as a privilege but as a promise to support and help their fellow students.
His message reinforced the importance of developing positive leadership qualities during the formative years of a child’s education.
A meaningful beginning for young leaders
The Investiture Ceremony served as more than a ceremonial event. It gave the pre-schoolers an opportunity to experience responsibility and leadership in an age-appropriate manner while encouraging them to work together and support one another.
The participation of the children in the various segments of the programme also highlighted the institution’s emphasis on nurturing confidence and leadership from an early age.
