Following the excitement of the Paris Olympics, a unique sports event was held in Chikkamagaluru city, Karnataka, on August 15, 2024. Named Kiddo Olympics 2024, this event was specifically designed for children aged 6 months to 5 years. Organized by the Vande Matram Trust at a local Football Turf Club, the event featured a variety of races and activities tailored for young participants.

Hundreds of children took part in the Kiddo Olympics, embracing the spirit of competition and fun. The event included a toddler race, which was particularly notable for its entertaining and dramatic moments as the youngest participants, aged 6 months, took their first steps toward the finish line. Additionally, older children competed in a 50-meter race and a hurdle race, with their parents providing guidance and encouragement from the sidelines.

Each participant received medals and certificates of participation, celebrating their efforts and achievements. The organizers required that children bring their own shoes, as these were not provided at the event, and participants were asked to present their birth certificates and Aadhaar cards.

The Kiddo Olympics 2024 was a remarkable initiative, showcasing the enthusiasm of young children and their families, and marking the first time such an event was held in the district. It successfully combined the thrill of sports with the joy of Independence Day celebrations.
