Ladyhill English Medium Higher Primary School (ICSE), Urwa, hosted a hands-on workshop on Report Writing and Media Reporting on 17 September 2025. It was held to help teachers refine their skills in writing accurate, clear, and engaging reports.

What took place

  • The workshop was led by Mr. Mahesh Nayak, Executive Editor of Mangalore Today (English News Portal and Monthly Magazine).

  • 36 teachers from the school participated enthusiastically.

  • Topics included how to draft media releases, prepare event-report news items, and the key components of a news report—from headline to conclusion. Emphasis was on accuracy, brevity, clarity.

  • Teachers worked in groups to write spot reports, followed by group analysis and discussion. The interactive setup allowed many questions, making it a lively and enriching session.

    • The programme was presided over by Principal Sr. Jenifer Moras A.C.

  • Miss Akanksha acted as the compere, and Miss Sahana gave the vote of thanks.

    • The training aimed at equipping teachers with professional communication and report-writing skills, which they can then help impart to students.
