Mangaluru: Royal Praveen D’Souza, Assistant Dean of the School of Information Science and Technology and Chairperson of AI and Management Systems at St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), has been awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science by the University of Mysore.

Research on Crop Yield Prediction

His doctoral thesis, titled “A Novel Approach for Agricultural Crop Yield Prediction using Soft Computing Techniques,” focuses on the application of advanced computational models to improve accuracy in agricultural yield forecasting, contributing to data-driven and sustainable farming practices.

Academic Guidance and Contributions

The research was carried out under the guidance of Dr. G. N. K. Suresh Babu, Research Guide, Department of Computer Science, Srishti College of Commerce and Management, Bengaluru.
Royal Praveen D’Souza also serves as a resource team member of the Mangalore Diocesan Social Communication Commission, extending his academic expertise to community and social communication initiatives.

Personal Note

He is the son of Mr. Pius D’Souza and Mrs. Lidwin D’Souza, and the husband of Mrs. Annette Preethi Monteiro. Colleagues and well-wishers have congratulated him on this significant academic achievement and wished him continued success.
