Mohanlal‘s highly awaited fantasy drama Barroz: Guardian of Treasures is all set for its grand theatrical release on December 25, 2024. The film has already garnered attention through its first set of early reviews, following a special screening. Initially announced in 2019, Barroz faced production delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic, with filming only resuming in December 2021 and concluding by July 2022. As the release date draws near, the excitement continues to build.
Entertainment industry tracker Ramesh Bala shared an early review on X, noting that Barroz has received “extraordinary reviews” from those who attended the special shows. Fans on social media have expressed their anticipation, with many commenting positively about the upcoming release. Some have even pointed out that early previews are often favorable, which seems to be the case with Barroz.
The film stars Mohanlal in the titular role of Barroz, a character shrouded in mystery. The cast also includes Maya Rao West, Cesar Lorente, Ignacio Mateos, Kallirroi Tziafeta, Narea Camacho, and June Vig. Directed by Mohanlal himself, the film is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. Barroz will be released in multiple languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, and English.
