Bengaluru: After a brief but dramatic suspension, Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12 is set to return to television screens. The popular reality show, hosted by Kichcha Sudeep, faced an unexpected pause earlier this week when authorities in Bengaluru South District sealed Vels Studio (Jollywood) in the Bidadi Industrial Area over alleged violations of environmental norms related to water and air pollution.
The halt caused a stir among fans and the entertainment fraternity, as the show, barely ten days into its premiere, went off-air temporarily, with contestants evacuated from the Bigg Boss house.
Deputy CM DK Shivakumar intervenes
The situation was resolved swiftly after Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar stepped in to mediate. Taking to his official X handle, Shivakumar announced that he had instructed the Deputy Commissioner of Bengaluru South District to lift the seal on Jollywood premises.
“Employment is important and give them an opportunity to rectify. While environmental compliance remains a top priority, the studio will be given time to address violations in accordance with the norms set by the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board. I remain committed to supporting the Kannada entertainment industry while upholding our responsibility toward environmental protection,” he wrote.
I sincerely thank Hon. @DKShivakumar sir for the timely support.
Also want to thank the concerned authorities for acknowledging that #BBK was not involved or was a part of the recent chaos or disturbances.I truely appreciate the DCM for promptly responding to my call, and thank… https://t.co/94n6vh2Boc

Contestants return to the house
Season 12 began with 19 contestants. After the elimination of Karibasappa and RJ Amith, 17 housemates—including Abhisheak, Chandrapraba, Dhanush, Jhanvi, Kavya, Manju Bhasini, Mallama, Maalu N, Rakshita, Sudheer, and Satish—will return to the house to continue the season.
With the controversy behind it, Bigg Boss Kannada 12 is expected to deliver the drama, emotion, and entertainment that fans eagerly await.
