The biggest hit of the year was Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Ranbir Kapoor, when it opened in theaters last year. However, the movie also faced a lot of criticism for encouraging misogyny and toxic masculinity. In a recent interview, the director made a subtle reference to Kiran Rao’s criticism, citing the movie Dil, which starred Aamir Khan, in which the main character threatens to assault a woman, and they ultimately fall in love. He asked the song Khambe jaisi khadi hai as well.
On the other hand, after the director’s interview, an old video of Aamir Khan from an interview has surfaced where the actor is seen apologizing for the particular song and its lyrics.
Following the interview with Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, an old Aamir Khan and Aaj Tak interview surfaced. He accepts responsibility for the objectification of women in the movies in the video clip.
