Ajay Devgn never fails to dazzle his fans with his tasteful choice of motion picture roles. His most recent project, Maidaan, is a biographical film that chronicles the extraordinary voyage of Syed Abdul Rahim, the first football coach in India, from 1952 to 1962. As the focus turns to the movie’s soundtrack and the newest song, Ranga Ranga, is revealed, the anticipation grows. AR Rahman, the maestro, is responsible for the song’s composition, arrangement, and production, which promises a lively and upbeat listen. The accompanying music video immerses viewers into the world of football training, showcasing the rigorous preparation undertaken by Syed Abdul Rahim and his team. With scenes depicting relentless dedication and tireless effort, the song serves as an anthem of inspiration.

Following the release of the Maidaan trailer, some fans drew comparisons between the film and the iconic sports drama Chak De India. Addressing these comparisons, director Amit Ravindernath Sharma spoke about the distinctiveness of Maidaan in an interview with India Today. He said, “As soon as a sports film arrives, people compare these films because of the story of a coach and players. Even before watching the film, people assume that it’s a similar film.”

Amit Sharma further elaborated, “There are no similarities between these films, except maybe 22 players are running after one ball on the field. The story is different, the struggle is different. This is also not a sports biopic, it’s the journey of Abdul Rahim. Maidaan is about his emotional journey. Football is just the medium.”

Amit Sharma emphasized the distinctive quality of Maidaan while refuting the idea of resemblance to “Chak De India,” which starred Shah Rukh Khan as the women’s national hockey team’s coach. “Challenges are always good because one gets bored making the same films,” he said. The fact that audiences will finally learn about this man is what matters most. They must be aware of his contributions to the nation. There’s just his deepest love for football and India, no jingoism.”

On April 10, Maidaan, which stars Priyamani and Gajraj Rao in prominent parts, will be released. The movie is going up against Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, which has Prithviraj Sukumaran, Tiger Shroff, and Akshay Kumar in the main roles. The movie’s plot centers on the inspirational life of Syed Abdul Rahim, who builds and trains a team that includes gifted kids from the slums in an effort to bring Indian football to a worldwide audience.
