Bengaluru: The police have arrested five people in connection with an assault case. A group of miscreants brutally attacked an auditor on the ring road near Kalyan Nagar, recently and the act of assaulting the auditor was captured on the dash camera of a car and quickly went viral, raising public concern over daylight assault in full public view.
On Friday, the police arrested the accused. Interestingly, two of the five people arrested were his colleagues, and they hired goons to beat him up, the police said.
Suresh, an auditor with a milk product firm in Bengaluru, was beaten up by these goons because he was strict in his work.
Umashankar and Vinesh, among those arrested by the police, also worked with him in the company. During interrogation, both admitted to the crime, claiming that Suresh used to put a lot of pressure on them and was strict at the office.
The accused said the auditor joined the firm a year ago and was strict in his work. He allegedly harassed and instructed all employees to clear the stock balance promptly.
The accused used to relax and take their own time to clear the balance before Suresh joined the firm, said the police.
Noting their lethargic approach towards work, Suresh brought this issue to the notice of the company’s senior management, and they took strict action against them.
Displeased by Suresh’s action, Umashankar contacted a former employee who introduced him to Sandeep, another accused in this case. Based on Umashankar’s direction, Sandeep hired a few goons from KR Puram, who followed Suresh and assaulted him using an iron rod, the police said.
The accused were arrested in the Hennur area. Police are investigating the case in all the directions.
