Palakkad: Director Lokesh Kanagaraj, known for his blockbuster film ‘Leo’ starring ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay, faced an overwhelming reception in Kerala that turned chaotic, leading to a minor injury during a promotional event at the Aroma Theatre Complex in Palakkad. ‘Leo’ has achieved a historic box office streak, crossing the global milestone of Rs 400 crore and creating immense buzz, particularly in the Tamil and Kerala markets.
Upon his visit to Kerala, Lokesh Kanagaraj intended to interact with fans and media at several venues, including Ragam Theatre in Thrissur and Kavitha Theatre in Ernakulam. However, the turnout at the Aroma Theatre exceeded all expectations, resulting in an uncontrollable crowd.
In the midst of the enthusiastic gathering, Lokesh suffered a minor leg injury. Law enforcement had to step in, using lathis to control the crowd that had exceeded safety limits. Due to the situation, the director had to cancel his planned events in the state and return to Tamil Nadu.
Expressing his gratitude for the warm reception, Lokesh Kanagaraj shared a selfie with the cheering crowd on X (formerly Twitter), thanking the people of Kerala for their love and support. He mentioned, “Thank you Kerala for your love. Overwhelmed, happy and grateful to see you all in Palakkad. Due to a small injury in the crowd, I couldn’t make it to the other two venues and the press meeting. I would certainly come back to meet you all in Kerala again soon. Till then continue enjoying #Leo with the same love.”
