Food Delivery Platform Magicpin Takes a Swipe at Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina
Food delivery platform Magicpin has taken a jab at YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia and comedian Samay Raina following a controversy sparked by their show India’s Got Latent. Magicpin, claiming to be “India’s third largest food delivery app,” posted an advertisement featuring animated characters resembling panellists from the controversial show. The ad humorously read, “India’s Lost Talent. Comedy ki limit honi chahiye par discounts ki nahi (There should be a limit to comedy, but not to discounts).”
The advertisement quickly went viral on social media, with users praising the witty response. “Comedians need this type of humour!” one user commented, while others referred to it as “epic” and “the need of the hour.”
The controversy erupted after Allahbadia, also known as ‘BeerBiceps,’ made comments during an episode of India’s Got Latent, which led to widespread criticism. Amid the backlash, Allahbadia issued an apology on Monday. However, multiple complaints have been filed against him, Raina, and social media influencer Apoorva Mukhija. The Maharashtra Cyber Cell has registered a case and filed charges against 30 to 40 individuals associated with the show, with notices being sent to all involved.
Mumbai Police visited Allahbadia’s residence as part of their investigation, and the National Commission for Women (NCW) has summoned him, Raina, and others for alleged derogatory remarks, with a hearing scheduled for February 17. The controversy has now reached Parliament, with Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi calling Allahbadia’s remarks “abusive language in the name of comedy.”
The episode featuring the controversial comments has been removed from YouTube, and Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis has warned that anyone crossing the limits of decency will face consequences.
