Girish Kumar made his Bollywood debut in 2013 with Ramaiya Vastavaiya, a romantic film directed by Prabhu Deva and co-starring Shruti Haasan. A remake of a Telugu hit, the movie saw moderate box office success but gained attention for its emotional depth and chartbuster song Jeene Laga Hoon. Girish’s performance earned him nominations for Best Debut, signaling potential for a bright future in acting.
However, his second film, Loveshhuda (2016), opposite Navneet Kaur Dhillon, failed to impress both audiences and critics. Following this, Girish quietly exited the limelight and transitioned away from acting.
From Actor to Executive
Though he left acting, Girish didn’t stray far from the film world. As the son of veteran producer Kumar S Taurani and nephew of Ramesh S Taurani—co-founders of Tips Industries—Girish stepped into the family business. He currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Tips Industries, playing a pivotal role in its exponential growth.
As of June 24, 2025, Tips Industries is valued at ₹8,533.40 crore on the NSE. It had even surpassed ₹10,500 crore in market capitalisation in 2024. Much of this growth has been attributed to Girish’s business acumen and leadership.
Net Worth Surpassing Bollywood Superstars
Despite acting in just two films, Girish’s estimated personal net worth now stands at ₹2,164 crore—higher than top actors like Aamir Khan (₹1,900 crore), Ranbir Kapoor, and Ranveer Singh.
Married to his childhood sweetheart Krsna and living in Mumbai with their child, Girish remains grounded and media-shy despite his staggering success.
