The latest project that Australia and Delhi Capitals (DC) hitter David Warner worked on with Telugu filmmaker SS Rajamouli has gone viral on the internet. Warner appears in a commercial for the Indian fintech startup Cred as a character drawn from Rajamouli’s hugely popular film Bahubali. The commercial effectively captures Warner’s passion for Telugu films, and his antics during Rajamouli’s cameo gave the character a frustrated look. Warner also posted the advertisement on his official Instagram account. Warner can be seen dancing and reenacting several popular scenes in the advertisement.

Warner’s fascination for Telugu movies and culture began during his stint with the SunRisers Hyderabad in IPL.
He often shares videos and mashups of him dancing to a Telugu songs. Even his wife and daughters have also been part of his Instagram videos.
Between 2014 and 2021, Warner spent eight seasons as an SRH player. In 2016, he led the team to its lone championship.
Warner’s relationship with the management soured, though, and he had a messy exit from SRH.
After one season, he was selected by the Delhi Capitals, the team he originally played for in the Indian Premier League under the name Delhi Daredevils.
Last season, Warner led DC in Rishabh Pant’s absence after the wicketkeeper-batter missed the campaign due to a potentially fatal car accident.
Before this season, though, Pant returned to his captaincy responsibilities. Despite finishing second to last in the previous season, DC is currently at the bottom of the 10-team standings, having only won one of their last five games.
With a half-century to his credit, Warner has amassed 158 runs this season at an average of 31.60 and a strike rate of over 142. His highest score of 52 came in their lone victory thus far, in Visakhapatnam, over the Chennai Super Kings.
