Hyderabad: Actor Janhvi Kapoor has praised the Telugu film industry’s professional work culture, highlighting its respect for working hours and the well-being of actors, technicians and crew members. The actress made the remarks while promoting her upcoming film Peddi alongside co-star Ram Charan ahead of the film’s theatrical release on June 4.
Speaking during an exclusive conversation with journalist Navika Kumar, Janhvi reflected on her experience working in Telugu cinema and said she appreciated the industry’s emphasis on maintaining structured schedules and ensuring adequate rest for everyone involved in film production.
The actress noted that the approach differs from some of her experiences elsewhere, where working hours can occasionally become extended depending on the project.
Janhvi highlights structured working schedules
Discussing her experience on Telugu film sets, Janhvi said one of the biggest positives was the industry’s commitment to respecting working hours for not only actors but also technicians and crew members.
According to the actress, scheduled breaks are treated seriously, allowing cast and crew members sufficient time to rest and recharge before resuming work.
She explained that a lunch break on Telugu film sets often allows enough time for both a meal and a short rest, creating a healthier and more productive work environment.
Janhvi observed that such practices help maintain energy levels throughout long shooting schedules and contribute to smoother production processes.
Actress compares work culture across industries
While appreciating the Telugu industry’s work ethic, Janhvi acknowledged that experiences can vary depending on the production and film set.
The actress stated that she generally worked nine to ten hours a day while filming in the Telugu industry and only occasionally had to extend shoots to around 12 hours.
She also pointed out that night shoots are often planned with clear finishing times, ensuring cast and crew receive adequate rest before returning to work.
According to Janhvi, such planning helps maintain a healthy balance between work demands and personal well-being.
The actress added that while productions in Mumbai are often well planned, working schedules can differ based on the specific project and production team.
Ram Charan shares his perspective
Ram Charan also weighed in on the discussion, expressing admiration for certain aspects of the Hindi film industry’s efficiency.
The actor said he often looks at the speed with which some Hindi films are completed and wishes large-scale projects could be wrapped up in shorter timeframes.
Referring to Peddi, Ram Charan revealed that the film required an extensive production schedule spread across two years.
The actor remarked that completing films within shorter schedules would be beneficial, especially for large-scale productions involving multiple locations, extensive action sequences and elaborate sets.
His comments highlighted the significant effort and planning required to bring ambitious cinematic projects to the big screen.
