Big news for Bollywood buffs—Kareena Kapoor Khan is teaming up with acclaimed filmmaker Meghna Gulzar for a new movie titled “Daayra”. The project will also star Malayalam cinema icon Prithviraj Sukumaran in a prominent role.
Kareena made the announcement on April 14 via Instagram, sharing a couple of behind-the-scenes glimpses. In one candid shot, she is seen engrossed in conversation with Meghna and Prithviraj. Another frame captures the trio smiling brightly, exuding team spirit.
The actress expressed her excitement in the caption, stating, “I’ve always believed in surrendering to the director’s vision… and working with one of the finest, Meghna Gulzar, is a privilege. To collaborate with the phenomenal Prithviraj Sukumaran—whose talent I truly admire—is the icing on the cake. Here’s to Daayra—my dream team. Let’s make magic.”
Her sister, Karisma Kapoor, responded with a heart emoji, writing, “Finally.” Actress Amruta Khanvilkar also chimed in with applause emojis and a “Wow!”
Meghna Gulzar posted the same pictures, adding, “When law and justice blur… Excited to begin Daayra with Kareena and Prithviraj. A meaningful collaboration with Junglee Pictures and co-writers Yash Keswani and Sima Agarwal.”
Meghna’s last release was “Sam Bahadur” (2023) starring Vicky Kaushal. Kareena was recently seen in Rohit Shetty’s “Singham Again”, while Prithviraj directed and starred in L2: Empuraan, which hit theatres in March.
