Television actor Mahhi Vij has broken her silence on rumours claiming she and husband Jay Bhanushali are heading for divorce after 14 years of marriage. Taking to Instagram, Mahhi reacted sharply to an online report suggesting that their divorce was “finalised” earlier this year, calling it “false narratives” and warning that she would take legal action against those spreading misinformation.
“Don’t post false narratives. I’ll take legal action against this,” Mahhi commented on a post that had claimed the couple had already signed divorce papers and settled child custody.
The rumours, which first surfaced in July 2025, resurfaced this week after a Hindustan Times report alleged that Jay and Mahhi had filed for divorce a few months ago, citing “trust issues” as the reason behind their separation.
However, Mahhi’s recent statement appears to firmly refute the claims. The actor also highlighted the societal pressure surrounding single mothers and divorces, saying many people wrongly expect “drama” and mutual blame, instead of respecting privacy.
Jay and Mahhi, who tied the knot in 2011, are parents to three children — daughter Tara, born in 2019, and foster children Rajveer and Khushi, whom they took in in 2017. The couple was last seen together publicly at Tara’s Labubu-themed birthday party in August 2025.
Neither Jay nor his representatives have officially commented on the rumours so far.
