Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his admiration for Grammy Award-winning Indian music composer Ricky Kej, who recently orchestrated an instrumental rendition of the national anthem alongside the renowned British Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at London’s iconic Abbey Road Studios.
In response to Ricky’s post, Prime Minister Modi shared his praise on X (formerly known as Twitter), stating, “Wonderful. It will certainly make every Indian proud.”
Ricky Kej had shared his experience on social media, writing, “A few days ago, I conducted a 100-piece British orchestra, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, to perform India’s National Anthem at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, London.”
He further noted, “This is the largest orchestra ever to record India’s national anthem and it is spectacular! The ‘Jaya He’ at the end gave me goosebumps. Felt great as an Indian composer.”
Union Minister Anurag Thakur also took to X to praise Ricky Kej, highlighting the significance of the performance. He wrote, “There was a time when the British prohibited and jailed any Indian who dared to sing the national anthem and raise the national flag. As we step into the era of Independence, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra—a 100-piece British ensemble—performs our national anthem under the baton of the immensely talented Indian composer, Ricky Kej ji. This journey we’ve undertaken is truly remarkable. It signifies the promising days ahead for our nation.”
