Chennai: Actors Shruti Haasan and Soundarya Rajinikanth spoke about their superstar fathers’ highly anticipated project during an award ceremony hosted by Galatta Tamil. Fans and media alike have been eagerly awaiting updates on the film featuring Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth together on screen.
Shruti and Soundarya share excitement
When asked about the collaboration, Shruti said, “We also wish for it. We are also waiting like you,” and looked at Soundarya to gauge her agreement. The hosts then sought an update on the project. Soundarya responded, “It would be correct if our fathers gave the update. But definitely, Appa will work in Kamal uncle’s banner (Raaj Kamal Films International). What kind of movie it will be and all those details are a work in progress. So, Thalaiva himself will reveal it soon.”
Details about the film remain under wraps
Earlier, at SIIMA in September, Kamal Haasan confirmed he is working on a film with Rajinikanth, stating, “We don’t know if it’s a Tharamana Sambavam (wonderful occurrence), but it’s good if the audience likes it. If they’re happy, we’ll like it. Otherwise, we’ll continue trying. This was long coming.”
Rajinikanth also confirmed to the media that the project is in collaboration with Raaj Kamal Films International and Red Giant Movies, adding that a director has not yet been finalised. “Kamal and I want to do a film together. If we get a story and role, we will act,” he said.
