Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan has reportedly suffered a muscle strain during an action-packed sequence for his upcoming thriller King, currently in production. The incident occurred at Golden Tobacco Studio, Mumbai, where an intense stunt scene led to the injury. While not serious, the strain is believed to be the result of accumulated wear from years of action roles.

As a precaution, SRK has flown to the United States for advanced medical care. Doctors have advised a month-long rest, forcing the film’s makers to pause the shooting schedule. Studio bookings at Film City, Golden Tobacco, and YRF Studios through July and August have been cancelled. Filming is expected to resume by September or October.

“It’s nothing alarming, but enough to warrant a break. His team didn’t want to take any risks,” a source from the production revealed.

King, touted as one of 2026’s biggest releases, features an ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, and Suhana Khan, among others. The action thriller is being positioned as SRK’s next blockbuster, following a string of commercially successful projects.

While the film was initially eyeing a Gandhi Jayanti 2026 release, the current pause may result in a postponement. Fans worldwide are now rooting for SRK’s swift recovery and a powerful comeback.
