Bullied

Rakshita Singh Bangar, a biology teacher, posted a video of herself responding on Instagram to a student’s sexually suggestive comment.

A teacher took to Instagram to share a video detailing how she dealt with a student when he made a sexually suggestive comment during her online class. She even added a note of encouragement for others, and said “Dear female teachers, don’t get bullied.”

The video was shared by Instagram user Rakshita Singh Bangar, who lists her occupation as an MBBS and biology teacher in her bio. She shared a video on social media to address the lewd remark she got from one of her students. She reads aloud the student’s explicit message at the beginning of the video. Rather than brushing it off, she responds sharply.

She also addressed some concerns about how society views “young female teachers” in the post’s caption, arguing that this needs to change.

In addition to teaching, I always believe that one of my duties as a teacher is to assist students in becoming better people! Hence, if there are any spammers, I attempt to reason with them. If not, most of them usually go through with it! However, in my four years of internet experience, I don’t personally respond nicely to remarks like these! I believe that if I, a 23-year-old, can handle so many things in life with maturity, then at the very least, 17 and 18-year-olds should have the basic decency to refrain from making suggestive remarks about their female teachers.
