Duke and Duchess of Sussex may not consider William and Kate as godparents for their first-born child. The decision to exclude the royal couple may be because members of the royal family rarely appoint their direct siblings as godparents.
The royal couple Meghan and Prince Harry had announced their pregnancy in October of 2018 in an official statement released by Kensington Palace.
The couple may consider someone from the royal family or from outside the royal family to take up the role of the godparents of their child.
According to a report, Royal commentator Andrea Boehlke said that the couple may skip the tradition and consider Meghan’s best friend Jessica Mulroney for the role. It is also likely that Meghan may opt for someone whom she has known for a long time from her celebrity years.
Andrea Boehlke also said that Meghan may consider Serena Willaims or Priyanka Chopra as she is very close to them. The Royal couple is very close to Princess Eugenie. Therefore, it could be any one of these people donning the role of the godparents of the royal baby.
