Mangaluru: Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy will present the ‘Sahakari Bhushana’ award to the South Canara District Central Cooperative (SCDCC) Bank President M N Rajendra Kumar at a grand programme being organised at Nehru Maidan on January 19.
The programme ‘Rajatha Sambhrama’ will be organised to mark M N Rajendra Kumar’s completion of 25 years as the president of SCDCC Bank. The same programme will also mark the vicennial celebration of Navodaya self-help group associations.
Informing about the programme, ‘Rajatha Sambhrama’ Reception Committee President Deviprasad Shetty Belapu on Monday, January 14 said, prior to the programme, a grand procession will be held which will be inaugurated by Union Minister D V Sadananda Gowda. Meanwhile, a book ‘Aakara Grantha’ will be released by Deputy Chief Minister Dr. J Parameshwar and a souvenir will be released by Water Resources Minister D K Shivakumar. Dakshina Kannada District In-charge Minister U T Khader will disburse loan documents to the beneficiaries.
Priority to cleanliness
Deviprasad Shetty informed that though over 2 lakh people are expected to attend the programme, maximum priority would be given to cleanliness. “Over 1000 volunteers will look after all the arrangements. We will take all appropriate measures to ensure no plastic items, sachets or any waste are thrown in the ground, he informed.
