Bengaluru: Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru campus, awarded degrees to a total of 643 students, including 174 girls and 469 boys at its 15th convocation. In their traditional Indian attire, the faces of Amrita students beamed with pride and joy as they clicked pictures and waited to receive their degree at the grand annual ceremony.

The largest contingent of students (507) belonged to the B.Tech stream, followed by M.Tech (81), MBA (50), students from the disciplines of engineering, and specializations such as Computer Science. Data Science Embedded Systems were represented among the students.

In his convocation address, the Guest of Honour, Sri. Ganesh Prasad S. (Founder & CEO, Genworks Health) said, “I am privileged to be here today. Being successful in life starts with having a purpose of doing well for others. A huge blessing is your parents who got you here and as they continue to bless you and including them will always keep you grounded and take you places. I got to meet Amma, and she got me here. Meeting her I recalled my mother and her presence resonated with me deeply. I wanted to reaffirm that Amrita is doing great work in technology and contributing to innovation in this country. As we collaborate with Amrita for the tech transfer of biosensors and wearable electronic devices which are called flexible electronics that were developed in Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, we would like to bring the Bengaluru institution as well as contribute to affordable access to technology.”

Speaking further about the Healthcare in the country Sri Ganesh said, “Even today despite the govt pushing the doctors to work for a few years, there is a scarcity at the primary care level. Till this continues,  healthcare can never be affordable. Post covid, our Health Minister said very clearly that he wants to convert 1,50,000 wellness centers into Ayushman Bharat wellness centres, where he wants to bring in 16 basic tests including women’s health. To implement this and provide basic access to medical facilities, you can contribute big or small by being a part of research and solving the problem, as engineers, researchers, etc. Find market access to such innovations and keep yourself motivated to provide and give back to society for a brighter future for this country.”

Jitendra J. Jadhav, Director & Prog. Dir. Aeronautical Development Agency, Bengaluru,” Apart from education, I see there is a lot of focus on the personal growth of the students balanced with compassion with research. This, therefore, makes the institute unique and I congratulate all of you present here. As you all graduate today, you should all remember that the main focus should always be on acknowledging that you are advancing in life even if you are confused about what to do next; continue to learn and adapt. Engineers are the backbone of innovation, implementing research, and solving societal problems.”

Campus Director Dr Manoj, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham while welcoming the gathering said, “Congratulations to all the students and parents present today. As we are all aware that times have been comparatively difficult for this batch as we were faced with a major catastrophe that humanity had to face resilience, despite that the students did not take any longer to complete the degree which is a great testament to the work put in by the faculty and the students worthy of appreciation.”

Delivering the benedictory address virtually, Sampujya Swami Purnamritananda Puri, General Secretary & Trustee, Mata Amritanandamayi Math and Senior Disciple of AMMA said, “Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is dedicating one more batch of its qualified and worthy students to the world. On this auspicious occasion, I would like to congratulate all the students for their determination, hard work, and wonderful performance. While being able to face challenges, an Amrita student keeps deep-rooted cultural values and social commitment. The philosophy of education is not just equipping students for a living but also a formation for life with an emphasis on compassion-driven research to make impact globally. We are confident that our students graduating today shoulder that responsibility with pride and an immense sense of integrity. I wish them all success in life and in their career.”
