A National Conference on “Empowering Human Resource for Quality Care” was organized by the faculty and M.Sc. & P.B.B.Sc. Nursing students of Athena college of Nursing on 8th March 2019 at Athena College Auditorium. The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the Chief Guest Rev. Sr. Aileen Mathias, Chief Nursing Officer of Yenepoya Medical College Hospital, Deralakatte.
In her address she emphasized the need of empowering today’s women and how nurses can contribute for empowering the women of today. Mr. R.S. Shettian, the Chairman of Athena Institute of Health Sciences presided over the function and Mrs. Asha Shettian, the Secretary, Athena Institute of Health Sciences graced the occasion by sharing the dias. Sr. Dhanya Devasia, the Principal of Athena College of Nursing welcomed the gathering.
The dias were also graced by Dr. Sr. Alphonsa Ancheril, Vice Principal & Organizing Chairperson, Mrs. Sunitha Dsouza, HOD of Community Health Nursing Department & Staff Organizing Secretary & Ms. Priya the Student Organizing Secretary. Mrs. Melba Drago, Lecturer, Medical Surgical Nursing Dept. & Ms. Charishma, Asst. Lecturer Paediatric Nursing Department compared the programme. Mrs. Sunitha Dsouza, Staff Organizing Secretary proposed the vote of thanks. Rev. Sr. Aileen Mathias, CNO, Yenepoya Medical College Hospital, Deralakatte, Fr. Dionysius Vaz S J, Rector of St. Aloysius Institutions, Mangalore, Mrs. Jyothi Pinto, HR Manager, FMCI, Dr. Sajith Kumar, Asso. Professor, Govt. College of Nursing, Calicut were the Resource Persons for various sessions. Around 220 delegates from the colleges of Kerala & Karnataka attended the conference.
