Mangaluru: Milagres college placement cell in association with IQAC, PTA and Alumni (MICAA) organised its fourth mega job fair Career Connect 2023 on 22 August 2023 at Milagres college.
Vincent Cutinha, Managing Director of Provit Food Pvt ltd inaugurated the job fair. Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, Correspondent presided over the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Vincent Cutinha said, “Job fairs provide a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between the potential employers and employees. Businesses today have become brave and are expecting the aspirants to be convoluted in various fields.
Bonaventure Nazareth in his presidential address said, “Perceiving the right job is what matters. In a job fair, the relationship between the employer and employee plays a significant role. More than money, job aspirants should be sincere towards their work. That is how society rises and people will be able to stand on their own feet.”
Around 60 companies registered with 4000 vacancies. The job fair saw the participation of more than 3000 aspirants including graduates, post graduates, engineering, IT, diploma students and so on. Suhas S Udupa, branch manager of SBI, Alphonsus Sylvester Mascarenhas, vice president, Milagres PPC, Chethana Kumari, IQAC coordinator, and Raina D’Cunha, president of MICAA were present.
Fr Michael Santhumayor, principal welcomed the gathering, Vinitha Mendonca compered the programme and Athira, coordinator placement officer, proposed the vote of thanks.
Total 60 companies registered, 2000 candidates attended the job fair and 842 were short-listed.
