Mangaluru: The 9th Graduation Day of St Aloysius B.Ed College, Mangaluru was held on Tuesday, 12 April, 2016 for the passed out graduate teachers of 2014-15 batch at the college auditorium. The function commenced with an academic procession walking into the auditorium. The Principal Dr (Mrs) Farita Viegas welcomed the gathering.
The Chief-Guest Dr A M Khan, Registrar (Evaluation), Mangalore University delivered the inaugural address. In his speech he said, St Aloysius College Institutions have unique features in the spectrum of education. He expressed deep sense of admiration towards the inputs that the B. Ed college and its management puts in order to create able and dynamic teachers needed for the society. He concluded his speech by stressing on excel in small or big task, but don’t remain within the comfort zone.
Rev. Fr Denzil Lobo SJ, Rector, St Aloysius College Institutions delivered the presidential address. He said, “Graduation day is a commencement day, beginning of new face of life. Today the responsibility of a teacher is to train the children who are ready to invent new things. Teachers’ job is not merely giving information, but to transform the whole being of the child.” He also invited the graduate teachers to become the weapon to bring about a change in society by making it a better place.
Rev. Fr Michael John SJ, Director of the College appreciated the Principal and the Staff members for their hard work in securing 100% results in the B. Ed degree final examinations. He insisted the graduate teachers to carry over the legacy of Jesuit Education.
After the awarding of marks cards to the graduate teachers the Rector administered the oath to be honest in the discharge of their duties and serve for the cause of the good of young minds. During this occasion the College Staff felicitated the outgoing Rector, Rev. Fr Denzil Lobo SJ and College Director Rev. Michael John SJ recognizing their selfless service to the College over the years. The college newsletter Aloysian Chronicles was released. The graduation day function dissolved with the College Anthem.
