Mangaluru : The PG Department of Social Work (MSW) of St Aloysius College (Autonomous) ventured in to a cleaning drive and a plantation programme at Nandigudda graveyard on 28 July 2018.
80 Students of MSW and five faculty members took part in this programme. The progamme was inaugurated by the Ex Mayor of Mangalore City Corporation and the Corporator of the ward Jacintha Vijay Alfred. In her addresse she mentioned the importance of nurturing the nature.
Godwin D’Souza an industrialist from Mangalore and Jeeth Roche, coordinator and a nature lover was also present. Godwin D’Souza provided materials required for the programme.
The cleaning drive and the plantation programme was started at 1.30 pm and ended at 4 pm. Heaps of plastics, bottles and syringes were collected and digging pits and planting saplings was done, students and teachers tirelessly involved in the entire cleaning drive and the plantation programme.
