Mangaluru: St Aloysius College (Autonomous), commemorated the 77th Independence Day on August 15, 2023, with great zeal and patriotism. The event, which commenced at 9 am, was a resounding success, witnessed by students, teachers, and dignitaries alike.

Dr Vishanz Pinto, the Head of the Department of History, graced the event as the chief guest, infusing it with distinction. The event began with a magnificent NCC march, showcasing student discipline and unity. Following this, the national flag was hoisted solemnly by the chief guest and Principal, emphasizing freedom and unity.

Amidst the students and teachers, the assembly brimmed with patriotic fervour, paying homage to the nation’s struggles and achievements. The campus exuded togetherness and pride, complemented by the distribution of sweets among attendees to symbolize shared joy.

To mark India’s 77th year of independence, the College initiated a significant action: planting 77 saplings guided by Arjun Mascarenhas, the College’s Environment Officer. This not only reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to sustainability and environmental consciousness but also symbolized growth, renewal, and progress powerfully.

The entire event was a testament to the college’s unwavering dedication to fostering a sense of national pride, responsibility, and community engagement among its students. As the day’s festivities drew to a close, a sense of accomplishment and unity hung in the air, setting the tone for a promising and vibrant future.
