Mangaluru: Saint Anthony’s Asrham, Mangaluru will be completing 120 years of service on June 12. On this occasion Most Rev Dr Bernard Moras the Archbishop Emeritus of Bangalore Arch Diocese will preside over the Eucharistic Celebration at 6 p.m. at Milagres Church. He served the institute as Asst Director from 1968 to 1970. All priests who served as Directors and Asst Directors will be honoured after the Holy Mass.
June 13 being the annual feast day a Holy Mass will be celebrated at the Jeppu Ashram at 10.30 a.m. Most Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore will be the main celebrant. This will be followed by the blessing of foundation stone for a state of the art new block of 100 beds to be constructed for the mentally ill people in memory of 120 years. Shri U. T. Khader, Minister for Urban Development and Housing, Govt of Karnataka will be the Chief Guest. There after Saint Anthony Saint of Miracles a 45 minute Konkani drama, concept and created by Vincent Fernandes, written and directed by Shri John M. Permannur will be presented.
A Holy Mass will be celebrated in Malayalam at 4.30 p.m. at Milagres Church for the benefit of Malayalam speaking devotees. The Bishop along with a number of priests from and around the city will celebrate the main festive Holy Mass at 6 p.m. at Milagres Church.
