Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy lamented about the level of corruption that permeates the bureaucratic machinery.

Spaking to the reporters at the Gandhi Bhavan here on June 11, he said, “Corruption starts from bureaucrats. Their lust for money has multiplied the problem of corruption.” Requesting for honesty from the bureaucrats, the CM said, “They should work sincerely at least from now onwards,”

There have been rising complaints about the hidden corridors of power control in the Vidhana Saudha where middlemen control the transfers and appointments. The chief minister seemed to agree to the allegations. “If I try to stop the trade of transfers, they may not let me be the CM even for 2 minutes. The system cannot be changed all of a sudden. I am really worried as to how I can start repairing the system”, said Kumaraswamy uncovering the cruel face of the corruption.

“I have had heart operation twice and don’t have any idea how many days I would live. But, my intention is to provide honest administration to the state”, he said.

The CM was confident about the future of the coalition government that looks shaky with several MLAs voicing dissatisfaction about the cabinet berth allotted. “Some people comment that the coalition government will not live for 5 long years. But, our government will complete 5 years. There is no doubt”, he added.
