Mangaluru: St. Aloysius Evening College, Mangaluru, a 52-year-old institution run by the internationally acclaimed Society of Jesus, held its annual Talents Day in the College Auditorium on February 2, under the auspices of the IQAC and the Fine Arts Association of the College.
Nearly 240 students, most of who work during the day, presented a meaningful variety entertainment from 5 pm to 8.30 pm. Many contemporaneous themes were presented in a creative amalgam to the earnest audience present there. The themes included Swachh Bharat, Women Empowerment, Role of women in the armed forces, Incredible India etc. All the participants displayed a wealth of talents like Singing, Dancing, Mime, Skits, etc., dressed in appropriate costumes depicting the cultural diversity of India. Suresh Edanadu, lecturer in Kannada, Expert College, Raviraj, lecturer in Kannada, Besant College and Lakshmisha Bhat, lecturer in Sanskrit, Vikas College were the judges.
The team from the III B.Com won the first place, while the II B.Com and I B.Com teams won the second and third places respectively. In the PG Category, the first place was bagged by the II M.Com team while the I M.Com team was placed second. Dr. Mahalinga Bhat, president of the Fine Arts Association organised the programme with the assistance of Jyothi, Secretary, Fine Arts Association. Pallavi, Meghashree, Shrividhya, Jayashree, Sridevi and Pragathi were in charge of the MC desk.
