Mangaluru: On the occasion of the 159th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Mangalore University, and Ramakrishna Math, Mangaluru will jointly organize the ‘National Youth Day’ on January 12, 2021 (Tuesday) at Mangala Auditorium of the university at 9.30 a.m.
Deputy Chief Minister, and Minister of Higher Education, IT and BT, Science and Technology, Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood, Dr Ashwath Narayana C N will inaugurate the event in the divine presence of Mangaluru Ramakrishna Math Adyaksha Swami Jitakamanandaji and Chennai Ramakrishna Math ‘Vedanta Kesari’ Monthly Editor Swami Mahamedanandaji.
Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Mangaluru MLA U T Khader will be the chief guests. Former MLC Capt. Ganesh Karnik and Mangalore University, Syndicate Member Shri Vivekananda Paniyala will be the special invitees. Mangalore University

Study Centre inauguration:
On the same day, ‘Swami Vivekananda Study Centre’ will be inaugurated at Yakshagana Adhyana Kendra building of Mangalore University’s Mangalagangothri Campus, Konaje at 9.00 a.m. Mangaluru Ramakrishna Math Adyaksha Swami Jitakamanandaji will inaugurate the Centre, while Chennai Ramakrishna Math ‘Vedanta Kesari’ Monthly Editor Swami Mahamedanandaji will be the chief guest.
Mangalore University Vice-Chancellor Prof P Subrahmanya Yadapadithaya will preside over the function. Syndicate Member Vivekananda Paniyala is the special invitee. Swami Vivekananda Study Centre Formation Committee members K Ramesh, Prof K Krishna Sharma, Prof Somanna and Dr Chandru Hegde will be present.
