You can’t chase your dream without hard work: Sri Vishwaprasad Alva

Mangaluru: “There is no lottery to success. Be a part of the 99.9% of people who work hard and then success will follow,” says Dr. Vishwaprasad Alva, Founder and Managing Director, Skanray Technologies, Skanray HealthCare, Mysuru, on the occasion of the 136th college day of St. Aloysius College held on, March 10, 2016. The programme commenced at 5: 30 pm in the college campus.

Dr. Vishwaprasad Alva, chief guest on the occasion, stressed upon the importance of globalization saying that we should think globally and not restrict ourselves to our city and state. He also said that, if we are thinking about the Make in India products, there should be good quality and technology in it, or else it will be a waste of our resources. He further stated the need for values in our society saying that, trust allows you to survive in a tough environment. It can create an asset to the society. He concluded with a message for the students asking them to get the best out of internet for themselves as we can gain enormous knowledge. He asked the staff to have fun at work and not be a person with a frown on the face and not to do the job for personal gain.

In his presidential address, Rev Fr. Denzil Lobo SJ, Rector, St Aloysius College, continued with the message on entrepreneurship saying that students should be involved in things that change the world.

“If you have a great vision, and work towards that vision, you will succeed in life,” he said.

He concluded with a general message for the audience where he asked the students to rise above stagnancy in life and reminded that education is not the amount of knowledge put in our brains that runs riot there, but we must have life and character building assimilation of ideas.

Fr. Swebert D’Silva SJ, Principal, St Aloysius College,read the college annual report which was followed by prize distribution for all students excelling in academic and co-curricular activities. This was followed by a wide array of cultural program that kept the audience glued to their seats.

The people present for this occasion were Dr. A M Narahari, Registrar, St Aloysius College, the conveners of the program, Rev. Fr. Francis Almeida SJ and Dr Veronica Judith Carlo and Mohammed Hussain, President of Students Council. Various vice principals and deans of different faculties and parents attended in large numbers.
