Mangaluru: “Each of us can discover in Joseph – the man who goes unnoticed, a daily, discreet and hidden presence – an intercessor, a support and a guide in times of trouble. Saint Joseph reminds us that those who appear hidden or in the shadows can play an incomparable role in the history of salvation.”

St Joseph’s Church, Jeppu celebrated the feast of St Joseph, the Patron of the Universal Church and Patron of the Jeppu parish on 19 March 2022 in grandeur by offering the Holy Mass. Rev.  Fr Roshan Crasta, administrator of Father Muller Homeopathic Medical College/Hospital & Father Muller Homeopathic Pharmaceutical Division-Derlakatte, presided over the Eucharistic celebration. Fr Roshan Crasta gave a meaningful Homily encouraging the faithful gathered to take St. Joseph as a model of authentic fatherhood who reminds every father of the importance of presence, love, patience, and discretion in family. Being a father entails introducing children to life thus making them capable of deciding for themselves, enjoying freedom and exploring new possibilities. This is what Joseph did more than two thousand years ago, and this is what we parents should do today for the good of our children.

The faithful were present in large numbers to participate in the Eucharistic celebration which was held in the Church premises. Special prayers were offered for various needs of the Church and the world. The beautiful music and singing by the Choir made the celebration more meaningful.

The extension of the stage and successful completion of a decade of publication of “Jeppu-So-Prakash” parish bulletin was also highlighted.

As we continue in our life of faith, we invite St. Joseph to be a father to each one of us, guiding us ever closer to his adopted son, Jesus. May he teach us how to be faithful disciples constantly adoring the face of Christ.

At the end, the Parish Priest Fr Maxim D’souza expressed his gratitude to all those who rendered their services for the organization of the event. Ice cream served to the people after the mass was sponsored by Grace Ice Cream Parlour .
