Mangaluru: “He who plants a tree, plants hope” – Lucy Larcom. With this thought LCS Kindergarten celebrated the finale of Vanamahotsava week, on July 15 2023, under the theme “Tree Is Life”. The programme began with the prayer song led by the KG choir.
Malini Menezes the compere of the day welcomed the gathering. Lourdes Central School Principal Rev Fr Robert Dsouza, Vice principal ma’am Belita Mascarenhas and parents witnessed the programme. The significance of the day was given by Master Shivaansh Talwar.
The students of KG 1 and KG 2 gave the message on how to preserve nature by actively involving themselves in action songs, dance drama and role play.
Principal Rev Fr Robert Dsouza had all appreciation for the little ones for their effort and enthusiasm. In his message, he appreciated the parents for their presence and urged them to take care of their surroundings so that the children can breathe in the fresh air and have a clean and green world around them.
In connection with the project, a colouring and collage activity was held for the students of classes KG1 and KG2. Winners were felicitated by Principal Rev. Fr. Robert Dsouza.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by planting a sapling by staff, students and parents, which indeed gave true meaning to the project “Tree is life”.
