Bantwal: A group of energetic and committed youth, who have spent years playing cricket together for fun in the evenings, have realised that now is the time to play for a better cause.
With the aim to give financial support to the charitable trust “Humanity”, responsible for thousands of smiles, the youth from Bantwal (Modankap) organised a cricket tournament “Humanity Cup 2k18” with the guidance of Roshan from Belman, the founder of the trust. The tournament was organised for the benefit of the less fortunate.
Many showed their generosity and support by sponsoring trophies, cricket balls, backdrop, sound system, water and other requirements. Donations were also given to various trusts and charitable institutions- Rs 50,000 to the Humanity Trust, Rs 5,000 to the Jeevadaan Charitable Trust, Rs 5,000 to Snehasadan and Rs 5,000 to St Anthony’s Charity Institutions.
Humanity Trust was started in May 2017. It is a non-government organisation which helps the poor and needy regardless of religion. So far, Humanity has completed more than 230 projects and donated nearly Rs 2 crore to the needy.
